Normally the team at Black Pepper doesn’t talk about money donated or time spent on good causes, but in the current climate, we felt it was important to communicate our values. A portion of our annual revenue (yes, revenue because there really aren’t any profits when you’re a self-employed consultant, especially after feeding the teenagers) is donated annually. This year we continued our support of KEXP and the Brookline Food Bank’s Brookline Thrives program because we believe music heals and no child should go hungry. We recently added the NAACP Legal Defense Fund because we believe Black Lives Matter.
If you listen to KEXP, you occasionally may hear Sarah’s voice talking about what matters. You may also see her packing bags for Brookline Thrives on alternating Wednesdays. We remain thankful for what we have–including each of you–and strive to do our best for others during these troubled times.
